This chair was a nice experiment that combines techniques from different artisans located in Costa Rica. Starting from the principle of a solid block from a log with the appropriate dimensions, its basic shape is achieved by means of extraction with a chainsaw. After its parts are worn and the desired shape is obtained, the different faces are sanded to polish its shape and finish a bit.
The black finish is achieved by incineration and burning, followed by applying impregnating oil to seal the pore of the wood.
